BIG NEWS: My newsletter is moving to Substack!
Big news! I've migrated my newsletter here to Substack, the hottest platform around for independent writers.
Readers who subscribed through my website, marshallallen.com, won't need to do anything to continue their subscription. I have imported email address to Substack, so they will continue to receive my updates and Victory Stories in your Inbox.
I'm making the move for TWO reasons:
1. Substack has millions of readers, so my message of patient EMPOWERMENT will have greater REACH.
2. I will be able to add PAID subscribers.
I'm especially excited about my vision for paid subscriptions. Typically, Substack writers offer exclusive content to their paid subscribers and use the payments to fund their work. That's awesome, but it's not what I have in mind.
Instead, I will be donating 100% of the proceeds from my Substack subscribers to ASSIST and EMPOWER patients in need. My book and my video curriculum show patients how they can stand up for themselves. But many times, patients get stuck with medical debt, outrageous medical bills, insurance company denials, or other issues that are too overwhelming for them to navigate on their own. Our Substack crowdfunding will allow me to provide my curriculum for free to patients who cannot afford it and to hire patient advocates for those with especially complicated cases or circumstances. I want to use this platform to HELP as many patients as possible. I know you all are generous, so I'm confident you will be willing to help, too.
My Substack content will still be available to everyone for free. So subscribers will not be required to pay. But I ENCOURAGE subscribers to PAY $5/month, as a DONATION to help those in need.
There is a lot of "haves" and "have nots" in American health care. And there are a lot of circumstances that become too difficult for patients to navigate on their own. Let's join forces to help these patients! I'm excited to share their Victory Stories with you here, so we can see the power of our crowdfunding in action.
As always, I welcome your questions and comments. I’m happy to see you here on Substack!
