Gratitude for my paid subscribers
This newsletter is free, but I invite people to become paid subscribers. Then I use 100% of the proceeds to help patients in need.
When I launched this newsletter I wanted to give all of us an opportunity to be part of something bigger than ourselves.
My book and health literacy videos are great tools to help people help themselves. But sometimes people are in such complicated situations with their medical bills that they can’t sort them out on their own. They need a professional patient advocate or other guidance to solve their problem.
My newsletter is free, so everyone can have access. But I invite readers to become paid subscribers for the greater good. Then I use 100% of the proceeds to:
support low-income and underserved patients, who don’t have the means to fight for themselves
educate individuals with health literacy curriculum and tactics to overcome the predatory health care system
hire advocates or legal assistance to help complex patient cases
I’ve paid thousands of these donated dollars to hire patient advocates thanks to the generosity of my paid subscribers. I write their Victory Stories in this newsletter, which hopefully propels more paid subscriptions, so we can continue to pay this kindness forward.
Here are the reader-supported Victory Stories I’ve written so far:
Health insurer denies 273 claims at once. Sticking the patient with the bills.
Down Bad and Buried in Medical Bills. How You, My Subscribers, Helped a Patient in Need.
There will be many more stories to come. It’s inspiring stuff!
