Marshall,

Thank you for your eloquent remembrance and for sharing the lessons you learned.

What a blessing to have a father who demonstrated love and God's grace through action.

I read this aloud to my husband and teenage son. We all appreciated it so much!

The messages in this tribute are meant to be shared.

And re-read.

One of my grandparents experienced a similar lengthy decline from dementia. I can relate to the sentiments you described. The ideas and perspectives you expressed highlight the importance of reflecting on how we live our lives. All too often, attentions are diverted elsewhere. The point is not death. The point is Love. And that Love is Life.

Your dad's steadfast foundation in God, Love, is an especially noteworthy takeaway. His life is an inspiration to all, even those not fortunate to have such a loving man for a father, because his clarity of purpose - the innate and constant demonstration of Love -manifested a joyful, harmonious, and fulfilling life. He blessed countless people in his life well lived!

You are doing important work. Your father is proudly smiling down on you, showering you with Love.

Marshall,

You took the time to write about your father's death so thought I would send a word of condolence and offer prayers for peace during this period of grief for you. I understand completely the hard journey of caring for a father who suffered from dementia. I know what you mean about relief from suffering and the suffering the family also must travel.

It sounds like you have made peace about your father's death and hope you have been able to celebrate his life and impact on this world. May you continue to be his presence and loving impact for your family and those around you.

Peace,

Bob
